Publishing Industry:
*Not many this week. Got rid of 3 picture books and two of the above don't have GR links up. If any of y'all have Publisher's Marketplace subscriptions or are writers looking to announce your deals or have heard about deals during the week, let me know (christinareadsya AT gmail DOT com).
[Edit]: I found some! May have a place to get them for the coming weeks, but these are from today so there's only one with a link so far.
Can a teen Girl with the Dragon Tattoo put Finland on the YA literary map? Here's the author page in question, but I tried searching for As Red As Blood and didn't find an English version yet.
All right Divergent fans, you want your links? Allegiant could shock fans of best-selling Divergent books; author Veronica Roth releases latest installment of Divergent trilogy: Allegiant; Veronica Roth's midnight release day video.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Victory Tour. Will you see the cast?
Enter to Win Two Tickets to the Twilight Forever Fan Experience in NYC.
Pretty Little Liars’ Shane Coffey joins the cast of ‘The Originals’ as “Tim”. I don't know anything PLL related but that kid is cute. I wonder what they'll do to him... With Klaus or against him?

Looks like they finished filming The Fault in Our Stars?
And if you're up for it, dress like your favorite YA heroines for Halloween...

The 8 Habits of Highly Successful Young-Adult Fiction Authors. Interesting. A lot of insight from a lot of different YA authors.
Young adult fiction needs a new formula. I'd say the writer has some interesting insight (i.e. love triangles sometimes skewing the message of dystopias, etc.), but also didn't cite very many examples and generalized a LOT. Plus, I'd say YA is doing pretty well for itself, even if this ("publishers assume they’re catering to a pack of ravenous, tasteless teenage girls.") were true, which I don't think it is.
Potential Husbands from YA Fantasy: An Addendum. <-- Funny. *Mockingjay spoiler* -- A con for Gale is "Overly handy with WMDs."
