  • I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World by Malala Yousafzai (The book chronicles the story of this Pakistani girl who risked her life for the right to go to school; in October 2012, at age 15, she was shot in the head for her efforts to campaign for girls’ education. She survived the attack and has become a global symbol of peaceful protest and education; Little, Brown, August 2014)
  • Heartless by Marissa Meyer (the untold story of the Queen of Hearts; Feiwel and Friends, fall 2015)
  • The Question of Miracles by Elana K. Arnold (set in perpetually rainy Oregon, Iris struggles to accept the death of her friend and tries to make sense of conflicting beliefs about souls and miracles; Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, fall 2014)

  • The First Time She Drowned by Kerry Kletter (18-year-old Cassie O'Malley struggles to overcome a tumultuous – and at times, crazy – upbringing, and discovers the strength to break out of the role assigned to her by her family and start over; Philomel, summer 2015)
  • The Secret Files of Fairday Morrow by Jessica Haight and Stephanie Robinson. (The middle-grade adventure, pitched as Harriet the Spy meets Coraline, follows 11-year-old Fairday, who moves into the haunted house on the hill with her parents and stumbles upon dark secrets hidden behind the padlocked third floor; Delacorte, fall 2015)
  • The Well of Midnight by Andy Brumbach (a debut middle-grade adventure set in the 1920s, in which two cousins navigate the streets of New York City to recover an ancient mysterious mirror and save their grandfather; Delacorte, fall 2015)
  • Mister Puffball, Stunt Cat to the Stars by Constance Lombardo. (The first in a three-book deal, Mister Puffball tells the story of a cat's theatrical aspirations and adventures behind the scenes in Hollywood; HarperCollins, fall 2015)
  • Becoming Jinn by Lori Goldstein. (The books will follow Azra, a girl whose genie powers have just awakened on her 16th birthday, and who must balance having to learn the rules of her ancestors with her desire to be a typical teen; Feiwel and Friends, spring 2015)

Most Featured: Hmm, I don't know. I don't know that I've seen just one title. Lots of powerhouse books coming out soon/already released now like The House of Hades by Rick Riordan, Allegiant by Veronica Roth,The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead, Teardrop by Lauren Kate. What have y'all seen lately?

Recent Recommended Reads: You can read my review of The Secret History by Donna Tartt--not to be missed if you're a fan of ancient Greek culture or unpredictable contemporary thrillers---and my spoiler free review of The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa--will appeal to longtime Iron Fey fans as well as those of the spin-off series. I'm also trying to read The Book Thief for the Midnight Garden read-along but alas I am so behind on things bloggish and personal right now, I'm not likely to catch up until the 3rd week at the earliest o.O. (I'm sorry - this also means that I'm still behind on blog comments. Soon, friends, soon.)

Also... any of you have some knowledge of HTML? Can you tell me why my posts sometimes do that with half the text in black, half the text in the regular color?

Which articles did you like best? Did I miss any news? Did you host a cover reveal or discussion that I should have posted about? A giveaway? Leave the links, and I'll either edit this post or post about 'em next week.
