Christina Makes the Bookish Rounds is a feature that will let you know about recent MG/YA/NA book related news. I'll post about articles from the publishing industry, cover reveals, discussions from fellow bloggers, the latest tv/movie news, and giveaways that you're hosting. If you would like to follow along with cover reveals during the week, see my Pinterest.

*The post today will be shorter than normal since the last bookish rounds were on Friday evening, and that only leaves a handful of days for news and book announcements.

Publishing Industry:
Rights Report:

** My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories, edited by Stephanie Perkins (The YA anthology will feature 12 romantic tales of young love by celebrated YA authors, including Rainbow Rowell, David Levithan, Gayle Forman, Ally Carter, Holly Black, Kiersten White, Matt de la Peña, Laini Taylor, Jenny Han and Kelly Link. St. Martin's Press, October 2014).

**Knockout Games -- G. Neri (YA story about Erica, a white 15-year-old, and her experience getting caught up in the TKO Club, a group of middle-school kids urged to play the now-infamous knockout game by Kalvin, a charismatic black 18-year-old. The book, according to its publisher, takes an unflinching and morally complex look at casual violence and American teenagers. Neri wrote the book based on visits to a St. Louis high school where the knockout game was popular several years ago. Carolrhoda Lab, August 2014).

**Partition Junction -- N.H. Senzai (MG in which 12-year-old Maya uncovers a family mystery that takes her on an adventure from Pakistan to India. Paula Wiseman Books, fall 2015).

** I'M SHMACKED by TBA (Children's: Young Adult | I'm Shmacked has over 18 million views on its YouTube channel, 95,000+ fans on Facebook, 90,000+ Twitter followers, and 69+ Instagram followers. more ...)

**Another deal shown here. I don't have a Publisher's Marketplace account but: UNRIVALED -- Allyson Noel(a new series set in the fast paced world of LA night clubs, where three teens get caught up in a high stakes competition and the desperate measures they take make them suspects in a mysterious crime, Katherine Tegen books, Winter 2016).

Have you seen the authors Publisher's Weekly named as its flying starts? Among them is Phoebe North, whose Starglass I'm still looking forward to (eventually) reading. Any of your favorites make the list?

Teen writers find publishing success. I didn't actually know that some of those authors are teenagers. PS-- if you know any teens, send them this link to participate in Scholastic's writing contest.

Children’s authors read reviews of their own books. I didn't watch all the way through, but the story about the women or girls sitting together not being appropriate -- what?! And throwing the book in the trash?!

Do you know what was the most popular book of 2013 (at least according to Goodreads)? And did you know that the most shared quote came from a YA novel?

Did you see the 2013 finals for the Cybils YA Fiction award?

Simon & Schuster Signs On as Peanuts Master Publisher. Huh, I remember Snoopy, but I don't remember him having a sister...?

The same goes for Tonya Hurley's Passionaries -- check out the book trailer here.

To Publish or Pass: The Editorial Meeting & Selecting Books for Publication. Really cool article! I appreciated the inside look.

*There's a cover reveal I missed for Karina Halle here and GR link here.
**Also, apparently the City of Heavenly Fire cover will be revealed next week.

I probably missed some posts, but again since I posted on last Friday, there are fewer new discussion posts that I haven't already included... AKA: if you want more discussion posts, check out last week's bookish rounds. Also, anyone want to recommend some blogs to me? Lol, I know I've said I'm coming back "soon" for so long, but a.) it will eventually be true and b.) I'd like to add some more blogs to my list when I do. I know I'm missing some old ones where people have moved to other sites and I haven't added them back to my Feedly yet, but how about some others?

Recent Recommended Reads: You can read my review of Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge (an excellent, excellent debut that I am pre-ordering). Y'all this book may even make it to my books-that-define-me list because even though I'm still a tad confused, I love that. I love that I'm still thinking about the book, how it's deftly included so many references to Greek mythology and psych related subjects and fairy tales and how I feel the complexity of both the characters and the narrative. So, yeah. If you have an ARC, read it now. If you don't, I'll discuss the book with you when you get your pre-order :P.

Which articles did you like best? Did I miss any news? Did you host a cover reveal or discussion that I should have posted about? A giveaway? Leave the links, and I'll either edit this post or post about 'em next week.
